Space Fiction

Why space fiction is always connected with wars, invasions and violence? Have you never thought about this?

Some people may say that such a plot is more interesting for the public just because most people adore adventures. But adventures can be found just while traveling around other planets and discovering something new about them. And still there is an objection that any sci-fi film or book needs to provide us with embodiment of good and evil. Moreover, it is a space fiction and the author can bring something astonishing to its plot.

Other people suppose that all these themes are caused by the influence of World War I, the time when the first space fiction appeared. Such stories were as a presage of the future war. And the World War II caused the other wave of such stories. The most popular space fiction of that times was H.G. Wells' story "The War of the Worlds". This novel about the alien invasions and wars between Earth and other planets has remained to be popular till our days.

And of course, it is impossible to forget about George Lucas's film Star Wars. Probably, it is the most successful project in the history of space fiction. And it should be noted that excellent graphics as well as incredible effects are not the only things which make this film really popular. It is just a story. A story about good and evil.
